The Education Fleet is the Heart of the Work

The heart of ReSailor’s work is turning retired materials into hands-on education, on-water access, and measurable community impact.

From Sails to Skills

We turn donated sails into high-impact programs. By transforming recycled materials into purposeful products, we fund hands-on experiences that connect the next generation to the water.

The Classroom Connection

Our STEM-to-Stitch curriculum introduces students to the fundamentals of engineering, material science, and circular design.

Participants work directly with real sail materials—learning how to deconstruct, design, and build functional products.

The result is a practical, engaging experience that blends technical thinking with creativity.

Access to the Water Starts Here

Proceeds from ReSailor directly support youth sailing instruction and after-school recreation.

These programs provide access to the water, build confidence, and create opportunities for students to experience sailing—often for the first time.

It’s not just education. It’s connection, movement, and discovery.

Built with Lake Erie Community Partners

We collaborate with organizations that share our commitment to education, access, and sustainability.

  • The Foundry → Supporting hands-on learning and youth development through creative programming

  • Sandusky Sailing Club → Expanding access to sailing and strengthening community engagement on the water

  • Together, these partnerships provide the resources that turn materials into meaningful outcomes that extend far beyond the product.

About the ReSailor™️ Kids Programs

Kids are our future—we owe it to them to clean our EARTH. ReSailor™️ Kids has programming to do just that!

  • Perfect for after-school, summer camps, or junior sailing programs that are a few hours, half-day, or full-day

  • Eco-conscious program teaches youth about recycling & upcycling by making their own sail bag

  • Learning about materials used & energy required is showcased in this STEM-designed program

  • Lots of fun facts, activities, & a glossary, too

  • Kids design their own take-home bag

  • Curious kids want to know: WHEN a sail is no longer usable, WHERE does it go? WHAT are the next options to landfill/recycle/upcycle? WHY should we care? WHO does the work? HOW do we get involved?

ReSailor™️ Kids’ detailed curriculum, scheduling, and pricing can be customized to fit your needs.
